(Per Press Association.) *"' 'AfrtiLAijjr, August 14. An interesting discovery lias been made at Bradshaw Creek in the Northern territory. A baobab tree has been found bearing a memorial dated October 9th, and 15 or 75 with the name of Fred Adams, Southampton. There are other characters bt# tip writing is indistinct. The discoverers tninlc th 6 letter cat was either intended for the year 177^ or IS-S'ls.. Both datps bejdng to an earlier period than any recorded exploration of tb,o territory. The inscriptions were probably made by a ship's crew iv search of water, as at spring tidoa a vessel of light draught could navigate the creek to the vicinity of tho find, which is a hundred miles from the coast. Or perhaps the inscriptions wero those of a shipwrecked crew seeking food. Later.
