Pohangina County Matters.
At the meeting of the Wanganui Harbor Board on Thursday the following matters were dealt with : — Pohangina Township— A communication was received from the Pohangina County Council, enclosing the following resolution passed by the Council, " That this Council apply to the Wanganui Harbor Board for the lease of a section in the Pohangina Harbor Board for the lease of a section in the Pohangina township, on which to build a suitable residence for the use of the Councils clerk."— Resolved that the request could not be granted, and that the Council be informed that the sections will shortly be offered for sale. Pohangina— The Secretary explained { the business of the deputation from Pohangina, who came into Wanganm on Friday last, the day of the ordinary meeting. The deputation represented the Small Farm Association, the members of which desired concessions from the Board, viz., license to occupy, power to mortgage, and the right to capitalise. Resolved that, after consulting with their solicitor, the Board regrets that it cannot see its way to grant the concessions applied for.
