Palmerston Hospital Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting was held yesterday. Present — Messrs Bavenhill (chairman), Park, Taylor, Gocdbehere, Snelson, Lethbridge, Saxon, Kendall, Ransome. From Mrs Kaine, forwarding £1 4s 3d, collected by Feilding Committee of ladies in aid of hospital funds.— lt was decided on the motion of Mr Park, to acknowledge receipt with thanks, and also to thank the proprietors of the two local papers for supplying the hospital with papers gratis. From C. Eiehler, Halcombe, stating hat his son had refused to contribute towards hig support.— lt was decided to take proceedings against the son for the support of the father. From Drs Somerville (Hastings) and Wilson (Palmerston North) applying for position of surgeon to the hospital. — Dr Wilson's application was accepted. Mr Taylor drew attention to the fact that the coat of maintenance of patients was 35s per week, while those able to pay were only called upon to give 24s 6d per week. It was wrong that patients in a good financial position should have 9s 6d per week contributed by the Board towards their maintainence. — The matter ivas deferred for consideration till next nesting. On the motion of Me Goodbehere, the Secretary was instructed to formulate a scheme for representation of the various jonjribu'ting bodies l on the IJoard. — Standard. r>
