Messrs Abraham and W 7 illiams report —We bave only our Palmerston sale o yesterday to report upon. _ The entry o cattle was confined to springers and milk ers. For these, the demand was slov though a clearance was made, but t< buyers' favor. Sheep came forward it average numbers the greater portion o the entry being hoggets. Bidding unde: the hammer lacked spirit the sales effectei being made privately. Some lots wen out unsold. An improved demand set il for good breeding ewes and tat sheep which were readily quitted under tb< hammer. Cattle— Springing heifers, £\ 19s to £3 7s 6d ; milch cows, £4 12s 6c to ±5 10s. Sheep—Hoggets, 5s 4d to 6i 8d ; culls, 3s 4d ; fat ewes and wethers 9s 8d to 10s ; fat ewes, 8s to 8s 2d ; for ward wethers, 8s to 9s ; cull ewes, Is lOd , choice breeding ewes, 10s. Messrs Gorton and Son's stock report , — Our last two sales were at Marton anc Sandon for which there were fair entries Sheep sold well at Morton, only one pen being turned out unsold. At Sandon tht market waa not so good owing chiefly tc tbe reserves being too bigh the main bus^ ineas being done after the sale. Oin quotations are :— Cattle.— Marton, mixed, 35s ; Sanson, fat cows, M 10s ; calves, 10s to 18s ; cows £2 10s, Sheep.—Marton, fat sbeep, 8s 3d ; fat ewes, 7s 9d ; wethers, 8s 3d ; ewes in lamb, 5s 9d to 6s ; lambs, 3s 9d to 5s 2d. Sanson, fat ewes, 6s 9d to 7s 9d ,• lambs, various prices from 2a 6d to 6s 6d ; ewes in lamb, 5a 9d to 6s.
