The Feilding Star, Oroua & Kiwiea Counties Gazette. Published Daily. MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 1895. THE LATE JUDGE RICHMOND.
O Universal regret will be expressed in the colony at the death of Judge Richmond which took place in Wellington on Saturday afternoon from congestion of the lungs. He was the oldest Judge on the Bench, and was distinguished for his honor, his up Tightness, his learning and his wisdom. He had a strong sense of humour, and was of a most humane and kindly disposition. He was considered one of tbe ablest Judges in Australasia. Ho had been ill for only seven days before be succumbed, but his strength had been failing for so_>e time before. Judge Richmond leaves a widow and five daughters, two of whom are married, and four sons, one of whom is resident in Feilding. We sympathise most sincerely with the family in their bereavement.
