Shipping experts informs Mr Valentine that the cold storage space utilized last year for the conveyance of Australasian frozen meat and dairy produce, with the exception of poultry and rabbits, equalled 3,833,000 carcases of sbeep, while the carrying capacity of the vessels engaged in the trade amount to six half million carcases. If two and a halt trips are annually reckoned for each vessel, experts assert if the meat and dairy producers unite for the better regulation of shipments and insist that all the vessels be fitted with modern machinery reduced freights will soon follow.
