In the Assembly the tri'-isnrer stated that, Government had entered into a reciprocal treaty with Queensb-.'icl with regird to the border tridp, and would a'tempt to nr\ke a similar arrangement with New South Wales. Sydney, August 4. Messrs Crick and Meagher, members of Parliament and counsel for the defence in the Dean case, are suing the Premier for L2OOO damages for alleged libel contained iv a speech made at Newcastle referring to their connection with the case. The barque Excelsior, whicb left Kaipara on June loth, has arrived.
