RAINFALL FOR JULY, 1595.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir,— The total rainfall for the past month was 3-06 inches, the heaviest fall on one day being T2(> inches registered on the 6th, and rain was registered on 25 days. There were 18 frosty nights, the lowest temperature being 26 degrees (or 6 degrees of frost) during the nights ot : the 13th, 18th, 26th, and cJOth. The maximum heat during the month was 52 degrees on the 7th, 19th, 27th, and 29th. There was a heavy fall of snow after 8 p.m. on Monday night, 29th, which seemed to freeze as it fell, there being a coating of frozen snow on the evergreen shrubs in the morning close upon half an inch thick.
