"Professor" Richard Again.

« Melbourne, July 25. A fracas occurred at Bendigo on Saturday which caused much sensation. The man styling himself " Professor " Richard had been giving lectures and exhibiting his powers as an electric h«aler. "Dr " Stanley and his wife are also visiting the town, and announcements appeared in the local papers which show that no love is lost between the parties. Stanley met Richard in Mitchell street and assaulted him. Sbanley appeared to get the worst of the encounter, and Mrs Stanley went to his assistance. She gave Richard a severe trouncing with a horse whip, cutting his head and hands. Richard had a warrant issued, and Stanley and his wife were arrested on charges of assault, but were afterwards bailed out. Stanley, who is 66 years of age, and Amy N. Stanley, aged 39, natives of England, are described as specialists. The hearing of the case was adjourned. — Post.
