An accident occurred at the Kereru sawmill on Friday, which nearly ended fatally for two men. The trolly on the tram line " skidded," and the speed increasing on the frosty rails the trolly ran into two horses, killing one and injuring another. The workmen who were in charge, T. Carter and Strang, were knocked about considerably, but soon recovered. The horse killed was the property of Mr T. Pollard, of Shannon (sa3 r s the Farmer) and was worth from £20 to .£25.
