Laery and Co. report for the past week as follows .-—Wheat— Without alteration. Buyers are operating with extreme caution, and sales generally are of a from haud to mouth character. Prime milling, 3s 7d to 3s 9d ; medium to good, 3s 6d, f.o.b. Southern ports : whole fowl wheat, 3s 8d : broken do., 3s 6d to 3s 7d, ex stores, Wellington. Oats — Stocks in the South are reported to be low, and holders are not inclined to sell unless at an advance on prices lately reported. Local transactions are on a moderate scale, and values without change. Prime short feed, 2s to 2s Id ; Danish, Is lid to 2s ; duns, 2s 2d. Barley — Nothing doing. Prime malting 2s 9d ; good feed, 2s 3d to 2s 6d. Maize —Market sjighfcly easier at 2s 9d to 2s 19d. Pollard -Stacks are light and sales easily affected at 90s. Chaff - Advices from, the South indicate short supplies with a tendency to extreme values Local purchases for forward delivery, have been on a fairly large scale, and the advance in Southern f.o.b. has not been responded to. Prime bright heavy 72s 6cl to 75s ; medium to good 60s to 65s ; cowfeed, 52s 6d to 555. Cocksfoot — Prime bright machine-dressed, 4jjd ; rough undressed 3jsd per lb. Eyegrass — Pending the spring demand there is little or no enquiry, and values are without aiteratiou. Prime bright machinedressed, 4s 3d ; medium to good, 3s 6d to3s9d; rough farmers' lots 2s 6d to 2s gd.
