Primitive Methodist Church.

In spite of the very inclement weather last night there was a fairly good attendance at the " old-fashioned sing " in the Primitive Methodist Church. The choir was composed of some of the oldest members of the church, who, in days gone by, have been singers of no mean ability, and their singing proved that their voices still had power to charm. The pieces rendered consisted of some of the oldest hymns of Methodism, and took both singers and hearers back to the good ok] times of early days, and was an agreeable change from the modern songs of the present day. The singing was hearty and very spirited, some of the tunes having a splendid swing with them. Both singers and hearers thoroughly enjoyed themselves, several of the pieces having to be repeated ; the duet, " Before Vain World," by Mr C. Lucas and Mrs Richardson, being given three times. The connective readings on " The Life of William Clowes " were read by the Rev. J. Cocker. It is to be regretted that the weather was such as to hinder many from attending. It is intended to repeat the "sing" at a number of the country places atiearly dates.
