Shocking Outrage by a Convict.
(Per Press Association).
Sydney. This Day. News has been received of a sensational tragedy at New Caledonia. A convict named Piercourt, employed on Madam Tricottes station, having been discharged for some offence, procured some dynamite cartridges and placed them in the lady's bed when she was asleep. Her body was blown to fragments, and a daughter, seven years old, was seriously injured. Piercourt afterwards committed suicide by blowing his own head to pieces with another cartridge.
