. o The match Birmingham Mountaineers v. Apiti Augels was played at Birmingham ou Saturday last, resulted in a win for the Mouutaincers by 10 points to nil. The game was evenly contested throughout, the result giving no indication of the playing, as the Birmingham men knew more of tin science of fcbe game, enabling them to score points. Bruil and Mac«uire,|for Apiti, did good service for their side, while for Birmingham, Tolly, Foster and Barlow did well. Mr Harrison acted as referee. Tbe following te.ams have been chosen by the Junior Selection Committee to play a match ou Wednesday next, at Palmers tou, with a view of picking a junior representative team to play against the Wellington juniors at Wellington on Arbor Day :— A Team—Fullback, Short ; thrcequarfcsrs, Way, Slattcry, McFarlanc ; halves, Lloyd and Butler ; wings, W. Smith and Wishart ; forwards, Kyre, Shannon, Selby, Parkcs Evans, llogan, F. Do Luen, Waltou. B Team— Fullback, Allen* three-quar-ters, Lyons, Smith, Harper ; halves McNicol and Hurdle ; wings, Banting and Hamilton ; forwards, B. Smith, Deßlois Biklcrbcck, Blom, Purser, J. De Muen, Fitzsimmons, Morris. Emergencies — Bocks, Seddon and Hitchidgs ; forwards Mewburn and Palmer. Play to start at 3 p.m. sharp. A match played at Palmerston on Saturday between the Palmerston aud Pirate seniors ended in a draw. The football match played on the Oval on Saturday between tho School Boys and the Blucboys, resulted in a win for the former by uiuc points to six. For the winners James scored two tries, Bclk one. For the losers Smith and Simpson scored a try each. The Colyton School Boys defeated the Taonui School Boys by 3 points to nil on Saturday. The Taonui men defeated the Colyton on Saturday by Si points to o. Neither side had a full team.
