Deputation to the Minister of Lands.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 26. A deputation, introduced by Messrs Pirani and Wilson, M H.E.s consisting of Messrs E. S. Abraham, Dunk, and Armstrong, waited on the Minister of Lands and asked for an amendment in the Land Drainage Act, allowing acreage rating and compelling contributions towards the common watercourse on the principle laid down in Mr Pirani's amendment of last year. The Minister expresed himself favourably to the suggestions and promised to consider the advisability of introducing an amending Bill and consult with the members interested.
