The Port of Manawatu.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 25. In reply to a deputation the Minister of Marine promised to confer with the Minister of Railways regarding the removal of the obstruction in the Manawatu river which prevented to some extent the entrance of vessels. It was pointed out that the railways benefited to a large extent bj' the trade of the port, and that the coal for the Napier-New Plymouth line was landed at Foston.
