THE BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I see in your issue of yesterday that the ministers of the different congregations are about to canvass the Borough. to obtain signatures to a petition to the House of Representatives to amend the Education Act so as to provide for religious instruction in schools. As a large percentage of the residents of the Borough are in the dark on this " important," or supposed important, subject, 1^ think it would be a wise step for the ministers to call a public meeting and lay their views before the public, and discuss the matter thoroughly. I am a member of one of the churches, and for my own part cannot see what good the reading of the bible in schools would do, but, on the other hand, I am of an opinion the results would be bad. I am, etc., " Mobe Light."
