English Elections.

THE POSITION OF PARTIES. (Per Press Association). London, July 21. The following have been elected: — McKenna, Liberal, for Monmouthshire North ; Jones, Liberal, for Arfon ; Engledew, Nationalist, for Kildare North. The Tories gain Stirlinfishire, Mr McKillop was elected. The Liberals gain Forayshire, where White was returned, and Prestwick, where Cawley was elected. Further Unionist gains are as follows : — Mr Finlay has been returned for the Inverness District, where the Liberals had a majority of 53 at the last elections ; Mr Flannery has wrested the Shipley Division of Yorkshire from the Labour Party ; Mr Hatch has been returned for the Gorton Division of Lancashire, while Mr Maher, Liberal, had an advantage of 222 in 1893 ; and Mr Ward has won the seat for the Crewe Division of Cheshire, where there was formerly a Liberal majority of 1568. July 22. The net Tory and Unionist gains in the elections are 68.
