A Shocking Outrage.
WHOLESALE POISONING OF SHEARERS. [Per Press Association. J Brisbane, This Day. Details aro received of the wholesale poisoning of shearers at Bowen Downs. Eight men were poisoned in the first batch, and forty-nine in the second. The crime was effected by mixing arsenic in the bread and in a meat pudding. An eye-witness describes the scene as horrible, the men writhing about in every direction. One died, and the others are in a dangerous condition. Police have been despatched to the scene.
