The Anti-toxin Cure for Diphtheria.

(Per Press Associaiton.) Alburt (N.S.W.), July 18. A remarkable cure of a virulent case of diphtheria, or diphtheritic croup, has been effected here this week by Dr W. Cleaver Woods by the agency of anti-toxin remedy. The patient, a child only two years of age was in such a desperate condition on Saturday that the case was regarded as hopeless. Dr Woods then telegraphed to Melbourne for some anti-toxin, which was sent on by the exprees reaching Albnry at midnight. By this time the sufferer was in an acutely critical state, and it was thought that she conld not survive. An injection was made, however, about two teaspoonsful of the anti-toxin being used, and almost at once the child showed symptoms of improvement. In an hour she commenced to breathe freely, and in the morning, after a refreshing sleep, she had passed out of danger. The child is now quite recovered. The doctors regard the case as little short of marvellous.
