THE ALLEGED OVERFLOW.

A conference of delegates from the Feildiug Borough Council aud Manchester Road Board met at Mr J. H. Fry's, on the Makino road this morning, _ for the purpose of inspecting the Kiwitea stream where it was alleged it overflowed its banks during floods, the overflow finding its way into the Makino stream. The Mayor and Crs. E. Goodbehere ancl A. R. Allan (of the Borough Council) and Mrs H. J. Booth aud G. Wheeler (of the Manchester Road Board), the delegates appointed to represent their respective bodies aud report, met at the appointed time. With Mr Fry as tbeir guide and also accompanied by Mr G. E. Little, they went through MiFry's property aud followed the course of the Kiwitea through Messrs Elkington and Brucc's properties to the Cheltenham Cross road, a distance of nearly three miles. The delegates will present a report to their respective bodies at tbeir next meeting, but it is probable no recommendation will be made as in the opiuion of Mr Fry the Kiwitea floodwater does uot fiud its way into the Kiwitea, this opiuion being borne out by the fact of there beiug a small terrace running through the properties mentioned preventing the water from the Kiwitea stream getting into the Makino.
