The Stock Market.
Messrs Lowes and lorns report at Masterton last Thursday ;— Stock came forward in excess of numbers advertised, every line selling except one pen of ewes. Rates were firm and showed a substanrial advance, with good enquiry. In fat sheep an exceptionally fine lot of maiden ewes made 9s 4d ; heavy full-mouth ewes, 8s ; forward wethers, 8s 6d ; stores, 8s ; forward ewes, 6s 6d ; ewes in lamb 4s 8d to 5s 6d ; 2-tooth ewes in lamb 6s 6d ; culled lambs, shorn, 2s lOd to 3s. Beef— Fat steers, L 5 5s ; fat cows, £5 ; fat heifers, £4. 12s 6d ; yearlings and calves, 20s to 28s: dairy heifers, £3 5s to £4 ss. Horses— hacks, good, £8 to .£9 10s. Small pigs 5s to Bs.
