The Stock Market.
Charles Carr's stock report : — I held sales at Birmingham and Feilding yards on the 9th and 12th inst. respectively. The very wet weather prevented a lot of stock from coming forward in both sales. At Birmingham prices were on a par with recent sales. At Feilding there was a decided improvement in the prices of sheep, aud I may say I topped the market with the prices of lambs, viz., a pen of lambs sold on account of Mr W. A. L. Bailey, of Taouui, realised 6s lOd. The classes of sheep all round were good. Birmingham. — Cattle— Fat bullocks, £5 5s ; cows, i' 4; 18-month steers, £2 4s to £2 11s ; dairy cows, £5 to £6. Sheep — Lamb, 5s ; wethers, 6s 6s to 6s 9d ; forward ewes, 6s. Feilding. — Cattle — Mixed yearlings and weaners, 30s ; fat cows, £4 17s 6d to £5. Sheep —Wethers, 6s 9s to 8s lid ; lambs (culls), 2s to 3s Id ; lambs, good, 5s 3d to 6s lOd ; medium, 4s ; fat ewes, 7s ; forward ewes, 6s.
