Sydney Sheep Sales.
(Per Press Association.) Sydney, July 12. At the sheep sales to-day with one or two exceptions, ridiculous prices pre- * vailed. A large number of sheep were ' purchased for butchering. The remainder of yesterday's catalogue was I offered. Menlove's 100 Lincoln rams 1 passed yesterday and 40 of Threlkeld's, similarly treated , sold privately above the auction, though prices were not dis--1 closed. The results of to-day's sales , were— Threlkeld, 1 Leicester ram, 1} 1 guineas ; Hall, One Tree Hill, 12 Shropshircs at £1 14s Id ; Upton, Canterbury 46 Shropshires, 1] guineas each ; Burrows, Wairarapa, 16 Lincoln flock rams, ', 8s each. ! In Romney class, R. Cobb, Palmerston Norsh, sold 6 rams at an average of £10 6s each and 6 ewes at an average of £6 2s 6d ; Burrows sold 42 rams at an average of 8s each ; R. Mcßae, Richmond, sold 25 rams at an average of 8s each, and 47 ewes at an average of Ll 13s ; Mcßeth, Pahatanui, sold 2 rams at an average of 8s 9d each and 10 ewes at an average of Ll 14s 6d ; Allen, Clareviile, sold 7 rams at | of a guinea each and 15 ewes at l r } guinea each ; Duncau Southbrook, sold 24 rams at 9s each. These concluded the catalogue in this class. The last sale of the series then began in Lincolns. Goodfellow, Te Awamutu, sold 53 rams at an average of one guinea and ten cw r es at a guinea each ; Rutherford got rid of 35 rams at an average of 10s 6d and 50 ewes at an average of $ of a guinea ; Hall, 58 rams at an average of 12s 3d each and 17 ewes at a guinea each ; Hosking, Waiuku, 20 rams at an average of 15s 4d each, and Selby, Wainku, 34 rams at an average of 15s lOd ; May, Mount Roskill, 22 rams at an average of 13s 4d each ; Thomas, Otahuhu, 31 rams at an average of 14s 6d.
