Distiict Hospital Board.

Uie usual monttuy meeting or me above was held yesterday. PresentMessrs Ravenhill (chairman), Snelson, Park, Taylor, Kendall, Saxon, Ransome, and Lethbridge. Correspondence was received — From various local bodies, giving their valuations as follows: —Manchester Road Board, .£830,728; Fit/.herbert Road Board, £206,927 ; Pohangina County Council, £291,405 ; Manawatu County Council, £782,346. From Pohangina County Council, stating that they required representation on the Hospital Board, and asking if the Chairman, by virtue of his office, had a right to a seat. — Reply to be sent that the Chairman had no seat, and no alteration could be made in the representation until next election. From the Mayor of Feilding, asking what course he should pursue to get the Government subsidy on £42 9s 6d collected from the public to find work for the unemployed. It was intended to expend the sum in fencing, planting and otherwise improving the public Square. Mr Taylor did not object to the amount collected in Feilding being spent on labor, but he objected to it being spent on the purchase of material. The country farmers would have to find the subsidy. — It was resolved to accept the money and apply for the subsidy. On the motion of Mr Park, it was decided to call applications for the position of hospital surgeon, and to request Dr Wilson to act temporarily with Dr MacIn tire. The following accounts were passed for payment : — Feilding Borough Council, £51 18s lOd ,- F. A. Monckton, £1 Is j salaries, £94 10s ld. — Standard.
