The Stock Market.
vi ■ Abraham and Williams report : — We have no change to report in the sheep trade. The advanced prices ruling lately remain firm, but show no further improvement. Our supply at Palmerston yesterday was not large ; the lambs advertised did not come forward, which put buyers to an iucoureuience seeing some had come a considerable distance. The entry of cattle was small, chiefly confined to young stock of iuferior to moderate quality aud milkers of various degrees of merit ; the former were quitted to a moderate demand, the latter neglected. For beef there was good inquiry but those entered being only one remove from stores restricted values accordingly. Dnring the week we have effected privately the sale of some large lines of store bullocks and well-bred 3'earliugs. Sheep— Good quality store wethers, 8s lOd ; others, 7s 6d ; fat ewes 8s ld , lighten weights, 6s 8d : 2-tooth store ewes, 5s lOd ; breeding, 6s 6d to 7s sd. Cattle — Weaners, 16s; yearling steers, 27s 6d ; light heifers, £3 15s 6d ; choice fat cows, £5 15s ; store cows, £2 to £2 Bs ; good milkers, £4 2s 6d to £4 17s.
