Wanganui Education Board.

The regular meeting of the above was continued yesterday. Present — Messrs Carson (chairman), Sanson, Bridge, Boker, Fry, Pirani, Hurley, Rev. Ross, and Beckett. Ou Mr Pirani's motion, seconded by Mr Baker, it was resolved, That the head teachers throughout the district be requested to inform the Board the number of pupils taught sewing, tho names and salaries of the teachers of sewing, and the number of pupils instructed by each ; and that the various Education Boards of the colony be asked for information in regard to their system of instruction and examination of sewing. It was decided on Mr Sanson's motion seconded by Rev. Mr Ross, that Messrs Carson, Bridge, and Fred. Pirani be appainted to represent the Board at tne conference of Education Boards at "Wellington. Apiti — Green baize curtain to be supplied, and half cost of new chimney to be contributed. Feildiug — Repairs, &c, referred to carpenter. Nikau— Names of Messrs Stansell and McKay to be sent to Committoe. Awahuri — Letter enclosing committee's favorable report on the teacher's work ; letter received. Letter from Committee requesting that Mr Campbell be compensated for the use of room as school for twelve months ; resolved to grant £5 for the purpose. Beaconsfield— Letter from committee re occupation of school reserve ; referred to Mr Pirani.
