A New Unemployed Scheme.
(Per Press Association). Dunedin, July 7. A largely attended meeting was held to-night to consider a scheme by Mr A. Lorie to find work for the unemployed on the goldfields. The proposal is to equip men with tools, etc. find them in food, each gang to have a practical man as ganger, and any gold got is to be given to the association, and one half of it is to be paid to the men, the gangers getting a little more. The scheme was approved, and it was decided to form an association to carry it into effect.
