Railway Congress at Home.

(Per Press Association.) London, July 4. Mr Eddy, New South Wales Railway Commissioner, is one of the most active out of 1500 delegates attending the Railway Congress. At the request of the chairman, Mr Eddy addressed the Congress relative to the express, locomotives and signals used in New South Wales. He declared that the coupled six wheel locomotives for express trains resulted in a notable economy and safety. He also eulogised the WebberThompson system of signals. The Congress thereupon adopted a resolution recognising the value of the system enabling the points and sidings on single j lines to be blocked without stopping the trains. Mr Eddy's views respecting precaution necessary against color blindness was heard with great attention.
