<* SCENES IN THE NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT. THE GALLERIES CLEARED. (Per Press Association.) vSyhnky. This Day. When the Speaker of the Assembly notilicd the Council's amendments the Premier moved that both tho Loan and Newcastle Harbour Bills be laid aside. With reference to the former, he said the Government would endeavour to make the inconvenience following up the conduct of the Council as light as possible. They would try during the elections to minimise the distress of the people as far as they could. It would only be a matter of a few weeks when Parliament would be in full swing again. He thought they would then be able to transact business in a v;aj that would satisfy the people. Sir G. Dibbs aud Mr Farnell voted agaiust laying aside the Newcastle Bill, but tbe former left tbe House before tbe division on the Loan Bill came on, amid cries of " Cocktail " and " Turncoat." The motion was adopted unanimously. The Premier then bade farewell to tbe House and thanked bis supporters, aud hoped to see them again in Parliament. The House adjourned with cheers for reform and the Premier. While Mr Reid was speaking a number of Councillors crowded the galleries and kept up a running fire of loud adverse remarks. Tho House got very excited and demanded their removal. Finally the Speaker ordered the galleries to bo cleared, and the Councillors bad to leave, amid cries of " Clear the fossils out." It is expected tbe dissolution pro. clamatiou will be issued to-day. Both parties are making efforts aiad organising. The idea of holding the elections on a Saturday is abandoned, as it will interfere with the Jews and many working people voting.
