The Illicit Still at Momohaki.
ACCUSED FINED £150. (Per Press Association.) Waxganui, July 2. Donald Dickie pleaded guilty at the Waverley Court to-day on the charge of running an illicit still. He was fined £150 or nine months imprisonment. With reference to the discovery of the illicit still at Momahaka, it appears that an old Maori, years ago, who now lives at Parihaka, buried a valuable greenstone at the foot of this very rata tree, and wishing to regain the heirloom went oyer night to try and find it. He, however, found a still instead, and very sensibly informed the police of the matter.
