A meeting of members of the Feilding Bowling Club was held at the Empire Hotel last evening. Present — Messrs Sandilauds (in the chair), Davy, Dicksou, Hodren, McLaren, Light, Bastings, Haybittle, Sherwill, Gosling and Saywell. It was resolved, That Messrs Saudilands, Haybittlc and Sherwill be a Finance Committee with power to authorise all necessary payments on behalf of the Club. Other routine business was transacted and the meeting adjourned. With to«day's issue we publish an " inset " from the proprietors of the Bon Marche drapery establishment, Messrs Spence and Spence, enumerating a few of the numerous lines they are now offering at reduced prices to clear their winter stocks. With such bargains being offered locally there will be no necessity for residents of the district going to Wellington "or elsewhere to purchase really good drapery and clothing, and Messrs Spence and Spence buy for cash and sell for cash, and are. therefore in a position to compete even with the largest outside houses. The Excelsior Skating Rink was open yesterday afternoon for ladies and children only, and in the evening for both ladies and gentlemen, being well patronised on each occasion, proving that the popularitj' of the favorite pastime is quite as great as when first introduced into the colony. The success of the rink, which has onlj' been open two nights, lias been so great that the management have had tho necessity to procure more skates forced on them, and an additional number has been ordered, and will be to hand in a few days. To give cvciyono an opportunity to participate in the pastime the rink will be opened three nights each week after next week. During the evening the Feilding Brass Band played a number of selections. The quarterly meeting of the officers of the Wcsleyau church in the SandouFeilding circuit, was held at Sancton yesterday. The attendance was excellent and the interest evinced very warm. There was a deficiency on the quarters' revenue, but the three churches in the circuit divided the amount proportionately between them and guaranteed to raise the extra amount by next quarterly meeting. Requests having come from adherents at Cheltenham and the Harbor Board Block, it "was decided to commence service in these places without delay. Reports from the Sabbath schools were very satisfactory, and generally the prospects are very encouraging. In the evening a tea meeting was held, this being followed by the Home Mission meeting.
