THE PALMISTRY CASE.
TO TIIE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir,— "Will you allow a little space for a few lines in protest. Palmistry, properly understood, is not a " subtle craft," but a science on a well-estab-lished basis, closely allied to Phrenology and Physiognomy, in fact, a continuation ol the sane*studies. The section of the Act, No. 50, is a blot on our boasted freedom, and it should never been passed by the House, but should have been " laughed out," as the Pedlars' Act was. I fail to see how a person can be charged with an attempt to extort money, when she did not make a charge. But our laws, Mr Editor, are among the things that are wonderfully and fearfully made. Thanking you in anticipation, and enclosing my card, I am, etc. "No Tyuassy."
