A Warning to Shopkeepers.
(P/JB PRESS ASSOCIATION) Christchurch, June 26. In the Magistrate's Court this morning G. Paling and Fletcher, Humphreys and Co., were charged with a breach of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1881. The offence consisted in inserting in lib packets of tea coupons which when presented as aggregate collections were available as prizes. It was contended for the defendants that, they .did not know their action was illegal. Defendants were fiuecl4;s each, with costs.
