THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING TENDERS.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I was surprised to see Mr Ralph Heald's name figure in tbe Star last night, in the letter written by " Ratepayer," re his tender being accepted for the Municipal Buildings. I think " Ratepayer " is mistaken, as he has had no word to that effect. If " Ratepayer " looks up last Saturday night's Star he will see that Mr R. Young's was the one accepted, and not Mr R. Heald's. The reason that his tender was considered was because he was the second lowest tenderer for the brick party wall ; and I consider that the Councillors have broken faith with the ratepayers by accepting a teoder for a wooden party wall instead of brick — and having to suspend the bye- laws to suit themselves for the time being. I am, etc, Akother Ratepayer. Feilding, June 26th, 1895.
