Laery and Co. report for the past week as follows:— Wheat— Reports from the South indicate an easier tone with a slight decline in values Prime milling, 3s 9d to 3s lid ; medium to good, 3s Gd to 3s. Bd, f.o.b. Southern ports ; whole fowl wheat, 3s 8d to 3s 9d ex stores. Oats— Market continues very firm, with a tendency to much higher prices. At present, values ruling in the local market are relatively lower than those quoted in the South. Prime short oats are worth Is lid; duns, 2s. Barley — Prime malting, 2s 9d to 3s; good feed, 2a 2d to 2s 3d. Maize —ln good demand at 2s 9d lo 2s lud per bushel. Pollard— Satisfactory business is passing at 92s t d to 95a per ton. Chaff— Transactions during the week have been on a satisfactory scale at prices showing an advance of 7s 6d per ton on those last reported. Prime bright heavy, 70s to 725 ; medium to good, 57s 6d to 62s 6d per ton. Cocksfoot— Prime bright machine-dressed, 4^d ; bright heavy undressed, 4£n ; rough undressed 3Jd per Ib. Potatoes - Choice Oamaru Derwents, 50s per ton ; Canterbury, 47s Gd ; Blenheim, 45s
