At the Agricultuj-al and Pastoral Society's annual meeting to day resolutions were passed urging that the duty be removed from sheep drenches ; that members for the district be asked to press on Government the absolute necessity for the appointment of a bacteriologist to study and report on diseases of sheep in the North Island • and requesting Government to take effectual steps to prevent the introduction of anthrax from Australia. The Society accepted Mr Nathan's offer to address the members on his frozen meat scheme in about three weeks. It is hoped that Mr W. Nelson, who is on bis way from England, will be able to be present.
