The Hon. Mr Ward in Canada.

(Per Press Association.) London, June 14. Tlie Hon. Mr Ward cables from Ottawa that he had a long and satisfactory conference with the Canadian Ministry concerning a reciprocity treaty between Canada and New Zealand, but for the present he prefers to reserve details as to the result of the discussion. He mentions that he was most hospitably treated by the Earl of Aberdeen (Governor- General) and Sir Mackenzie Bowell (Premier). Ottawa, June 14. The Hon. Mr Ward, speaking at Winnipeg, promised to recommend the N.Z. Parliament to grant a subsidy if the Canadian-Pacific Company would run a line of steamers direct to New New Zealand. The company has since submitted an advantageous offer to Mr Ward.
