I PEE PBES3 ASSOCIATION. I Auckland, June 13. At a special meeting of the Chamber of Commerce the Chairman congratulated the Chamber upon the improved prospect of affairs generally. Produce had risen, the timber industrj' was active, and now there was great development in the mining industry, which would no doubt largely increase the prosperity of the city. Resolutions were carried for the Government to reinstate the subsidy voted last session for deep level mining at the Thames, also aid for opening up prospecting tracks, constructing a tiunk and branch roads in the North, and for the repeal of the Shop Assistants' Act. The Hon. Q. B. Mori is, M L C, said the resolutions poiuted in favor of borrowing, and he was opposed to that without reference to the people. The resolution was carried The question of the route of thu Main Trunk railway should be settled this session.
