Mr Nathan's Frozen Meat Scheme.

♦ Owing to the continued demand for Mr I). J. Nathan's paper on the frozen meat trade, we learn that the Agricultural Department, recognising the good results which may follow from consideration and discussion of a matter of snch colonial importance, has ordered a number of copies for free distribution on application. Accompanying Mr Nathan's original paper is a precis of newspaper criticisms from one end of the colony to the other, and his trenchant reply thereto, the whole forming an extremely interesting and instructive little book on the industry and its prospects. With few exceptions it appears that the press of the colony is unanimous in opinion that something should be done to put, the trade on a more satisfactory footing. The country newspapers, printed as they are in localities more directly affected by the low prices, as a rule warmly support Mr Nathan's scheme, or some similar project. — Times. .
