Eriza Abrahams, a Jewish lolly vendor, and a married man with a family, became infatuated with VI 188 Goodacre. He pestered her with his attentions, but she refused his advances. The couple met in the street this afternoon and endeavoured to avoid Abrahams, who drew a revolver and fired three shots at her, the bullets lodging in her arms and back.
