Public Benefit Boot and Shoe Factory.
The above named establishment may be termed as one of our " local industries," as the proprietor has quite a factory plant, all the machines being of the latest improved patterns selected by himself during a visit to the Old Country about twelve months ago. Mr Trewin being a practical man with considerable expert* ence in business both at Home and in the colonies has selected the plant and the material used in his business, and the stock m trade with a view to economy and durability so that he will not only be the gainer, but the public will reap the benefit. The proprietor has therefore felicitously named his establishment " the Public Benefit Boot and Shoe Warehouse." Mr Trewin, during his visit to Europe made use of his business acumen when visiting the various manufactories and selecting from the best of them the stock which be considered was the most suitable for the colonies. We may explain that such lines of goods as Mr Trewin imports are of better quality, and yet can be sold much cheaper than such as are manufactured in the colouy. Late importations of these goods are now opened up consisting of ladies', gents' and children's shoes and slippers which are worthy of attention. Besides making a quantity of boots and shoes himself, the proprietor has a selection gathered from all the best known makers in the Colony to choose from, so that the most fastidious can be suited from the very large and extensive stock which is always on hand. Mr Trewin has established a large manufacturing trade, orders being received daily from liangitikei and all the outlying districts of the Manawatu. It is uneeces. sary for us to pass the usual compliments as the proprietor has already succeeded in establishing a large and extensive business in this our growing town and district. ___^________
