MANAWATU RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Union was held at the Manchester Hotel last evening. Present — Messrs Cartie and Mathieson (Feilding), Mac Arthur and Fake (Palmerston N.), Bray (Red Stars), Kelleher (Half-holiday). Mr Matheson was voted to the chair. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Rules as drawn up by the Committee were read and adopted, with a few alterations, and 100 copies were ordered to be printed. The rules submitted for the formation of Referee's Association were approved and adopted, and Messrs Weeks, Matheson, Haybittle, G. W. Mitchell, J. G. Elliot, \. Richards, S. Strachan, and G. Shannon were elected members. It was resolved that the representative match Wellington be left in the hands of the Secretary to arrange for August On the motion of Mr Cartie, seconded by Mr Kelleher, Mr Collins was transferred to the Feilding Juniors. The following fixtures were made for the senior clubs in the Championship, and the meeting terminated: — Second round— Palmerston v. Feilding, at Palmerston. June 1 ; Pirates, a bye ; Pirates v Feilding, at Palmerston, June 8. Third round — Pirates v. Palmerston, at Palmerston, June 15 ; Feilding v. Palmerston, at Feilding, June 22; Feildins; v. Pirates, at Feilding, June 29. Fourth round— Palmerston v. Pirates, at Palmerston, July 6; Palmerston v. Feilding, at Palmerston, July 13 ; Pirates v. Feilding, at Palmerston, July 20. The following team will represent the Red Stars in their match with Feilding 11. on Wednesday next: — Full-back, Mingins ; three-quarters, A. Foster, Jno. Smith, Way ; halves, J. Hurdle, Joseph Smith ; forwards, Brinkman, Hamilton, Evans, Macmillan. Dempscy, Parkes, J. Rosoman, W. James ; emergencies, J. Evans, V. Martin. A charge of sixpence will be made to gentlemen, ladies being admitted free. The following players will represent the Palmerston Club against Feildtng on the Showground to-morrow :— Full back, A. Keeling ; three-quarters, Weight, Sinclair, Tripe; five-eighths, Cox; half, Podovin ; wings, Pike, Bell ; forwards, Eliott, Prendegast, Otterson, Matheson, Darroch, Young ; emergencies, Hankins, Andrews.
