" Sweating" in Melbourne.
(Per Press Association). Meluournk, May 30. At a largely attended public meeting resolutions were carried demanding legislation for the suppression of sweating in the tailoring trade, and denouncing the indiscriminate huddling together of large numbers of men women and children in ill ventilated hovels where they worked long hours for starvation wages. Some of the speakers stated that sweating was largely on the increase in the city. A deputation was appointed to wait on the Government on the subject.
