London Markets.
The N.Z.L. and M.A, Company have received the following London market cable dated 27th May .-—Tallow— There is a rather better demand. Good beef tallow is worth 2ls 6d per cwt., and New Zealand fine mutton is worth 24s 6d per cwt, Frozen meats — Mutton market better. Canterbury mutton is worth 3d per lb and Wellington mutton is worth 2£d per Ib. Lamb market is firmer. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase, 4Qd per lb. New Zealand hemp — The market is firmer. Medium is worth £18 per ton. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following wool market cablegram from their London house, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., dated May 2£ith :— Sales have closed with animation. Compared with closing rates of la9t London sales, the market shows no change for good wools, declined 5 per cent, for inferior to medium sorts, and very irregular, also very weak and irregular for inferior to medium lambs wool ; 69,000 bales held over.
