Samuel Evison's Confession.
FURTHER EVIDENCE. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, May 21. In the case of Samuel Evison, who is being dctaiucd in custody on his own confession of having caused the death of a young woman at Nottiugliam in 1882, some additional evidence has been collected by the police which goes a long way to confirm what tho prisoner has already confessed. A <rum digger called on Inspector llickson to-day in regard to the confession of Samuel Rvison as to having caused the death of a young woman at Nottingham in ISB2. Ue stated he is a native of Worksop, Nottingham, and knew Evison since 1803. He remembered reading in tbe papers about June, 1882, of a girl missing trom Nottingham, but bad not beard whether the body was found. He did not hear any more about her nnd did not know hpr name. He bas given to the police information about his and prisoner's peopie, whicb will be of great use to tbem in the affair which i vison was divulged. Accused comes before the Court to-morrow.
