New Zealand Cyclists' Alliance.
« (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, May 21. At a meeting of the New Zealand Cyclists' Alliance to-night the question of holding the cycling championships of New Zealand in conjunction with the Australasian Amateur Athletic Championship Meeting to be held in Christchurch in January, 1896, was deferred to enable the delegates to get expressions of opinion from their clubs. The secretary was instructed to write to the Brisbane Cycling Club in reference to holding the Australian championships alternately iv Brisbane and New Zealand. Strong objection was taken to several of the items in the balance-sheet of the last Championships Athletic Cycling Meeting, held at Napier, and the action of the executive in objecting to the sum of £4.5 5s 6d was approved. H. J. Pither, champion cyclist of the colony, lias been selected by the Pioneer Bicycle Club to compote iv the Australasian Cycling Championships at Brisbane in June next.
