Dairy Returns.
We have been supplied with the following returns from a dairy of twelve cows, the milk from which was supplied to the Cheltenham factory, during* the twelve months from May lst, 1894, to April 30th, 1890 : — Average returns per cow in gallons of milk (lOibs), 588 ; average returns per cow in pounds ol butter, 222*72 ; averaga pounds of milk to lib of butter, 20*4 ; average test of butter fat as per last item, 3*73 ; average price per gallon of lOibs of milk, 2|d ; average return per cow for butter, £G 9s. In addition to this the supplier had five months supply of skim milk to give to his pigs, after the calves were weaned, and the , calves were sold at about four months | for £1 a head. These returns were j from a herd which was not by any i means picked and should prove encouraging to the owner.
