The Half-Holiday Question.
(Per Press Association.) Gisborne, May 3. At the Magistrate's Court, Dunlop, Lewis, and Adair, three shopkeeperswere charged under the Shop Act with opening their premises last Saturday. The points raised were the validity of the Borough Council's resolution appointing Saturday, the motion not having been in writing and signed by the mover and seconder ; also whether the Council had power to re« yoke that resolution and to appoint another da y* This they have done and Thursday has been very generally observed for the last two weeks. The Magistrate reserved his decision.
