The Passion Play.

The most marvellous of miracle I plays, which is enacted every ten »- years in the Bavarian village of Oberammagau, namely the Passion Play, is to be the subject of an exhibition in the FeUding- Assembly Rooms on Monday night, the 13th insmnt The able services of Mr Walter Bentley will have the fullest scope in the handling- of such a remarkable f production. Mr Bentley has just 5 , completed a tour of the South Is--1 land where vast and delighted audie erces, were present to witness every s performance. The illustrations of r the portraits of the leading- characters d in, and principal acts of the drama, have been acknowledged by press and public to be works of art, being taken on the spot bj' Carl Stockman, - who has the sole photographic right in connection with the production, and are exquisitely colored. The attractiveness of the performance is * much enhanced by the inclusion of 4 several vocal items suited to scenes l ~ in the drama. In this connection '^ Miss M. Best, a sopiano singer, will ,f render " The First Palm Sunday," s "Calvary," and "The Holy City." * As the Passion Play will be produced c locally for positively one night only, 6 no one should lose the opportunity c thus presented to acquaint themselves * with what is undoubtedly one of the V wonders of the age and the story that a transformed the world.
